From Morocco To United States...
A Beginning in Morocco
Yemma Goods began with a deep admiration for Moroccan craftsmanship. In 2019, while living just a few minutes from Souk El Had in Agadir, one of the largest urban markets in Africa, we were surrounded by handmade decor, furniture, and artisan pieces every day. Seeing that beauty so closely inspired us to imagine sharing Moroccan craftsmanship with homes beyond Morocco.
The Road to Yemma Goods
Later that year, Oussama moved to the United States after being selected in the DV Lottery program. Before leaving, time spent in Marrakech strengthened his connection to Moroccoβs artisan heritage. Like many new immigrants, he worked different jobs while adjusting to a new life in the US. During the pandemic, we reconnected and spent two years trying other business ideas, but none of them felt as meaningful as the world of handmade Moroccan goods.
Building the Brand
In December 2022, a trip through Marrakech, Essaouira, and Agadir brought everything back into focus. We were reminded of the incredible artistry we had always admired and decided to fully dedicate ourselves to it. Soon after, we started selling handmade thuya wood jewelry boxes on Etsy. On April 4, 2023, Yemma Goods LLC officially became a company in Massachusetts. Today, Yemma Goods is dedicated to bringing the beauty, story, and craftsmanship of Moroccan handmade pieces to homes around the world.
